Daizo invests in second manufacturing plant in China

ACOA (The Alliance of Colep and One Asia) are delighted to announce that Daizo, one of its member companies, has invested in a brand new, state-of-the-art aerosol manufacturing plant in Zhangjiagang, China.

The new facility, known as Zhangjiagang Daizo Aerosol (ZDA), will be the second site for Daizo in China, and the investment represents growing demand for aerosols in the fast-paced Chinese market. The Chinese cosmetic market is currently third globally, and is a key emerging market for the industry.

The site was officially opened in November, following the Cosmetics Production Permit approval, which aligns the new facility with the China’s stringent cosmetic regulatory directives; ZDA will manufacture mainly cosmetic aerosols.

ZDA, which is a 53,000m² Greenfield site, encompasses initially a purpose-built 7,600m² factory, with high-specification aerosol manufacturing equipment, a bespoke mixing room, a quality control area and several external areas including a gas house and flammable liquids facility.

Situated on the Yangtze River coast, a busy river port with annual cargo handling of 260 million tonnes, ZDA is perfectly placed for importing and exporting, with waterway transportation links, as well as road links to the major cities in the region.

Masaaki Arai, Director Overseas Division, Daizo commented: “This second aerosol manufacturing plant in China is testament to the growing demand for aerosol products in the Chinese market. The purpose-built facility has been developed with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at the core, which aligns it with our ongoing sustainability strategy as a truly global manufacturing and technology offer.”

The Alliance represents a manufacturing and technology agreement between two operations, which gives them unrivalled proximity to a global market within the aerosol filling world.

ACOA has 18 other manufacturing sites around the globe, each dedicated to servicing the needs of customers worldwide.
